Maine Dental Access Coalition Receives Northeast Delta Dental Foundation grant

April 16, 2013, Augusta, Maine:


The Maine Dental Access Coalition is the recipient of a $15,000 operating support grant from the Northeast Delta Dental Foundation. ";We are truly honored that the Foundation supports the ongoing work of the Coalition;"; said Wendy Alpaugh DMD, Coalition Chair. ";We deeply appreciate their willingness to contribute to the core mission of the Coalition, which is to advocate for, and improve access to, quality preventive and comprehensive oral health care for all Maine residents. The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation has affirmed the importance of the Coalition at a time when state and federal funds are diminishing and the need for an effective voice for high quality, broadly accessible, oral health care is more important than ever.";

The Foundation's Treasurer, Kathleen Walker, APR, who directs its grant award process, said, ";The advocacy role of The Maine Dental Access Coalition is in sync with our mission of making oral health information and dental services more widely available, so this was an attractive grant making opportunity.";


Northeast Delta Dental administers dental benefits in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, offering dental insurance programs for organizations of all sizes and individuals and families with no access to employer-sponsored dental benefits. The Northeast Delta Dental Foundation has been awarding grants to oral health programs in the tri-state region since 1995.
