MDAC Gets A Facebook Page
facebookIt's official, MDAC has a Facebook  Fan Page. Check it out, click the button and ";like"; us! The goal of this page is to expand our outreach and have a way to share news and events that is quicker and more timely than the web site or the newsletter. We will have wall postings about upcoming events, and the latest information and research.  Once the Facebook page gets going we will give Twitter a try and you can follow us @MaineDAC

 


MDAC & The Maine CDC Oral Health Program Welcome UMF Intern
Logan Fray Logan Fray is a senior at the University of Maine at Farmington in Community Health, with a minor in coaching. He is a lifetime Mainer, from Jay, and a huge Boston sports fan. This semester he will be be immersing himself in oral health issues as he takes on maximizing use of social media in oral health communication and creating an infrastructure for fluoridation support. He will be dividing his time between the Coalition and the Oral Health Program.    

 

Ice Fishing Derby raised over $8000 for Healthy Smiles
HealthySmiles for ME logo

Healthy Smiles for ME  held its second annual Ice Fishing Derby fundraiser attracting over 400 participants and raising over $8000 to support its work in providing dental care to children in the Auburn area who have no other means of paying for treatment.

LD1666, which would have required insurance companies to cover fluoride varnish at least twice a year was voted ";ought not to pass"; in committee.
